OMG 개관제 '♾️49재'의 마지막 날 열리는 ’비늘을 위한 선블록‘은 2018년 독일 베를린에서 이수미뇽미년이 처음으로 선보였던 ‘인어는 선크림을 바를까’의 진화된 작업입니다. 이전 작업이 자신에게 막을 씌워서 가리는 작업이었다면, '비늘을 위한 선블록'은 몸을 가리거나 드러내는 행위 사이에 놓인 보호의 제스처에 대해 질문합니다. 그가 정성을 다해 만든 의상과 메이크업은 작품의 힘을 더합니다.

A time that explores concealment and exposure of the body and gestures of protection

“Sunblock Even for Scales”, held on the final day of ♾️49th-day Rite, the grand opening ritual of OMG, is an evolved work by Isu Mignon-Mignonne, following “Do Mermaids Wear Sunscreen?” first presented in Berlin, Germany, in 2018. While the earlier work focused on shielding the self by placing a barrier over the body, Sunblock Even for Scales asks a different question: it explores the gesture of protection that exists between concealing and revealing the body. The costumes and makeup, meticulously crafted by the artist, further amplify the power of the work.
