Junwoo Park’s comics are characterized by open-ended narratives. At times, they provoke a quiet, almost awkward laughter, yet leave behind a subtle philosophical resonance. The artist once remarked in a conversation, “Every argument must ultimately end in love.” His work reveals the fatigue and disillusionment of contemporary life, along with selfish and mutant-like figures; yet beyond this, it consistently returns to a sense of affection and hope for humanity. Allegorical metaphors and a worldview in which all beings are interconnected form the core structure of his narratives. This sensibility extends into his exploration of line—both digital and materially drawn on paper—where different layers of imagery intersect to construct a new, comic-based physical world.
